Design defined in the eyes of Germ.S

Q: What is graphic design?

A: Design is life; it’s practically everywhere we look. It has the ability to make us laugh, cry, hate, and fear. Design can be used an effective weapon as well as a positive tool to better society, like a magic power that you can make shape shift with one’s artistic talent and do whatever they wished. The key is simple, it’s just communicating.

Q: Does graphic design have rules or principles?

A: Design has its own rules that are sometimes best broken. Color balance, texture, form and space are very important guidelines to follow when designing however; some of the best designs occasionally bend these rules. The idea of design is to convey the feeling of the product. Making a horror movie banner based on a psychotic murder with a fighting plot would be horrifying. So since that main antagonist is crazy, you would want to integrate the feeling of insane and horror as the concept, even the copy of the title can be distorted in this case.se.

Q: Why is design so important in society?

A:Design is important as much the president elections, think about an illegible newspaper headline people can understand information backwards. If the CEO of the Sony Corporation needs to dress for success then why shouldn’t the companies branding?

Q: How long has the profession been around?

A: Since before the Book of Kells to next month’s issue of Maxim magazine graphic design professions have flourished. If you could imagine yourself in the ancient caves of Lascaux France 10,000 years ago with a palette of melted bones created into paint, what would you create? Design has been around further back than man can remember.

Q: How can you tell the bad designs from the well made?

A: A bad design gives people the facial expressions as if they saw a white wall, boredom. A good design will be the most intriguing thing that person saw in that day. Even though people are fascinated by complexity and color communication is the key.
